- How do I book and pay for my first session?
You can book online through the website or by text, phone and email. You will receive a booking confirmation email with all the details of your appointment. You can pay on the day via card or cash or in advance.
- Do I get charged if I cancel an appointment?
There is a £10 late cancellation fee if it is under 24hrs notice. If you have a discounted block booking then you would lose that session out of your block.
- What happens on the first session?
On your first session you will go through a consultation which will involve some questions about your health etc to better understand the condition of your body and ensure you get the best possible treatment. For sports and remedial treatments this is very in depth and will include postural/physical assessments to better understand the issue and how to resolve it (consultation and assessment can take 5-10mins).
- Does sports and deep tissue massage hurt?
Some areas of muscle may have some deep holding patterns (contractions or knots) these areas can feel particularly intense when deep tissue techniques are applied. However you will be asked about the level of pain as the massage progresses to ensure you are within your comfort zone.
- What type of massage should I get?
If you are looking for relaxation and some tension release then an Aromatherapy, Hot Stones or Swedish massage will help. A sports or deep tissue massage is completely tailored to your needs and focuses more on muscle holding patterns, injuries, postural issues and deep areas of tension.
- What type of oils do you use?
Grapeseed oil is suitable for normal skin types and is used most often for relaxation and some deep tissue massage. A moisturising sports lotion is used for remedial treatments. If you have a preference just let the therapist know during the consultation. The lotion is not greasy so is ideal if you need to go back to work etc.
